Benji, a dog in the shelter, had been adopted 11 times before being given back for unspecified reasons. A trainee named Stacy made the decision to take Benji home and found out the truth. Everyone was curious to learn the reason Benji had been sent back so frequently when they arrived at the shelter.
When he was three weeks old, Benji was left at the shelter; his siblings were kept by his birth family. Benji had trouble locating a long-term residence despite his lovely features. Every time he was adopted, he was given back with a different justification a few weeks later. The shelter was unable to determine the true cause of it.

Stacy brought Benji home because she was determined to help. Despite being initially aloof, Benji warmed up to Stacy and her family. They tried to stop the pattern by showing him love and care. Benji’s interactions with other animals, however, became to be a concern, and after an incident involving a cat, he vanished.
Benji was tracked down and brought back to the shelter after a frantic search. The shelter learned that Benji’s aggression toward other animals had been a problem for all of his former owners. Out of concern that Benji might be put down, they had kept the facts a secret.
Using this information, the shelter set about teaching Benji how to get past his fear of and violence against other animals. Benji was eventually successfully treated and given back to Stacy and her family, who were overjoyed to see him again. Benji had at that point discovered his loving, caring lifelong home.
