A Former Apple Store Employee Shares 18 Brutally Honest Secrets !

Share:

We sometimes have no idea what’s wrong with your device.

But we’ll reboot it and see if it helps. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We view a lot of photos that you may not want us to see.

We would never, ever snoop into someone’s device. When someone bring us their screen, they may not recognize what they’ve left open on it. Cue embarrassing tab-closing fumble

3. We know when you’re lying, even if we don’t say it.

You can tell us you didn’t drop your phone in water, but the liquid sensors within your phone say otherwise.

When it comes to special favors, politeness go a long way.

Many people believe they can yell their way to a free item. It almost never works.

However, most of the time, we must follow the regulations no matter what.

Even the kindest people. Sorry.

Employees are not there to upsell you on items you do not require.

Our objective is to match you with the best gadget for you, even if it’s the cheapest model.

And, to be honest, we don’t care if you buy anything.

In any case, most employees do not work on commission!

We don’t give a damn if you meddle with the display devices. Let your hair down!

To be honest, some of the things individuals do are rather amusing.

….Because all of those screens reset themselves overnight regardless.

We couldn’t possibly catch all of those pranks alone.

We understand that some individuals come in only to check their email or Facebook, and we don’t mind!

We have hundreds of gadgets laying around, so utilize them!

Yes, we’ve heard the “Are you really a GENIUS???” joke a thousand times before.

But we’ll keep pretending to laugh every time someone does it.

Even when it appears to be completely vacant, the store may become quite crowded.

There might be dozens of people waiting for a Genius Bar appointment at any given time. They aren’t always in the store!

We have no knowledge of any juicy company secrets.

We’re not lying when we claim we have no idea when the new MacBook will be released or what the new iPhone will look like. They don’t tell us anything like that.

No, we can’t let you use our employee discount.

Has any store in retail history permitted this?

Product launch days can be really freaking stressful.

Long lines, out-of-stock merchandise, raucous crowds, frustrated customers…it’s a lot to handle.

However, Apple makes the transitions a bit easier by providing plenty of free meals to staff.

Everything is better when there is free pizza in the break room.

The Genius Bar has a LOT of meltdowns.

We don’t like being the bearer of terrible news, but it’s sometimes our duty.

But there are also many lovely moments.

Helping a grandma learn how to FaceTime her grandchildren, or assisting a new mother in recovering deleted images of her baby…these are the things that make the work worthwhile.
