Aside from being a wonderfully kind and helpful guy, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is most recognized for one thing: he’s the world’s richest man. Gates, who is now 62 years old, is claimed to make $250 every second.

So, certainly, he is really wealthy! However, according to rumors, Gates was just dethroned and there is now a “new ultimate Richie Rich on the block,” stated Unilad.
Jeff Bezos, the creator of Amazon, is now the world’s richest person.

According to Bloomberg, the retail entrepreneur has surpassed Gates in terms of wealth, with a net worth of $105.1 billion as of January 8, 2018.
Back in April 1999, Gates was estimated to have a net worth of $100 billion, making him the world’s richest man ever. Gates’ net worth is at $93.3 billion, up $1.49 billion in 2018.
Amazon’s share price has increased by almost 57% for the past 12 months and will likely grow more in the near future.

Amazon’s stock has risen by 6.6% this year. And it now accounts for 89% of online holiday shopping transactions for the five weeks following Thanksgiving. In addition, according to Unilad, the business has bought retail chain Whole Foods, which has “significantly helped to boost shares,” as well as extended “the range of devices connected with digital assistant Alexa.”
As Bezos stated in one of his tweets:
“If we can keep competitors focused on us while keeping customers focused on us, we’ll be fine.”
Experts believe Gates’ net worth would have reached $150 billion if not for his charitable contributions.

It should be noted that the software billionaire donated a large portion of his assets to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), including over 700 million Microsoft shares and $2.9 billion in cash.
BMGF is well-known for its support of various issues in several nations, including healthcare, education, and poverty.
Gates recently wrote on why he does what he does in a TIME magazine story. He stated:
“It’s fortunate that terrible news receives attention to some extent. If you want to make the world a better place, you must be passionate about it.
“However, it must be balanced by benefits.” When you see wonderful things happening, you may direct your efforts into accelerating development.”
